Prior to the botched referendum on partisan participation in local governance, there was an urgent need to obtain information about the level of citizens’ awareness of the process, their willingness to participate, and how they are likely to cast their vote in support or against the proposition of the referendum and whether voters’ preferences are shaped by age, education, employment status and geographical location. Information on these could facilitate targeted campaign. Consequently a nationwide scientific opinion poll was conducted from 6-11November 2019.
